Our client wanted to extend their existing kitchen to create a larger kitchen/diner with a social space for family and friends.
The house does not currently address the garden so we looked at creating a visual and physical link with it by inserting large areas of glazing to the roof and walls. This would also bring in natural light and ventilation which is currently lacks.
The extension has been cleverly designed to give no indication of the contemporary feel to the rear of the house by using materials and scale which reflects that of the original house.
Planning and conservation area consent successfully granted.
