HAZELWOOD DRIVE, ST ALBANS.
The client's brief was to enlarge the existing kitchen and amalgamate it with the living and dining spaces of the house.
A utility room, ground floor wc and cloakroom were worked into the design and benefit from skylights to provide generous natural lighting.
The kitchen was sourced from ikea and manipulated to create an unique configuration.
A substantial rooflight floods the open plan space with natural light and large bespoke sliding doors frame a view along the garden.
An internal window brings natural light to the deep plan.
The contemporary extension is clad in black stained cedar timber to distinguish it from the brick of the existing house, and finished off with an Aluminium powder coated capping.
New office space was created in the garage conversion with brickwork painted black as a cost effective way of finishing off the external appearance.
